Christmas was rainy. The roads were wet.
The lights here are bumpy because we were going over a “yes ma’am.”
That’s what my grandfather called those bumps in the road that make you feel like you’re flying for a moment (if you go over them at a good clip).
My grandfather died about 19 hours ago.
Hmm.

I hope you remember all the good times you had with your grandfather and share those with the ones you love.

Thank you both so much.

Speed humps here used to be called “sleeping policemen” but the term seems to have fallen out favour these days.

These aren’t real speed humps… they’re not labeled or anything, and you don’t know you’ve gone over one until you find your car slightly airborne. They don’t make you slow down.
I like the term “sleeping policemen,” and it’s a pity it’s disappearing. Sounds like it’s time to restart a trend, Gerald..

JC, I’m so sorry, I’ve been reading your posts backwards. When someone gets above a certain age it seems as if they’ve past the threat of death behind. I suppose the threats gone in either way now.
Take care.
