Paul- Glad you noticed the very deliberate shooting angle- had absolutely NOTHING to do with where my car ended up at a stop light. Nothing at all.
I didn’t even NOTICE the chimneys until you brought them to my attention. Sheez, shows you how much attention I pay to my own photography.
BDPH- I’ve never been to the Saint, and I’ve only been to the STONE PONY once. So I have no idea, really.
I’d never even heard of the Saint, and I’ve also been to the Stone Pony exactly once. It was for They Might Be Giants and it was a great show, though they did not play “Istanbul” despite the ardent and repeated pleas (read: mob chanting) from the audience.
but… well, it is just an impression… and a sketchy one at that… but, having wasted a number of what should have been my college years doing just that (drinking and watching bands), i just can’t picture you in that world/scene…

You shot that from a perfect spot – a tad off-center. I love all of those chimneys in line on the roof.

Saint Tattoos
How does it compare with the White Pony? or Horse? or Springstein something or another?

….when was TMBG at the Stone Pony?

you don’t seem like the ‘hang-out-in-the-bar-and-support-local-music’ type…

Damn, am I that obvious?

(laugh)… not exactly…

TMBG is evidently a “Pony favorite” according to the Stone Pony’s own Web site and, believe it or not, are playing there THIS FRIDAY.
I saw them there a few years ago, maybe 2003. And their Web site features archived shows for download from ’04 and ’05.

In other words, m, “Yes, Josy, you ARE that obvious.”
John, I am cussing at you for telling me about this.
I have to play in a concert that night!
And here they are at my back door!
This is unfair.
I last saw them in 2003, in NYC, and it was a very fun concert. Anything with an enforced conga line beats my usual boring sit-down concerts.
