Monmouth Beach

seawall

Between the beach and the road, there is a SEAWALL. The weather on the coast has a tendency to be WICKED, and sand has a tendency to blow. Hence: a seawall exists.

Side note: absolutely no editing went into this photo. I couldn’t come up with anything I could do to markedly improve it- even a crop- so here it is, exactly as it was shot from the window of a moving car. THIS is what we call a “happy accident.”

beach condo

Some people enjoy living on a sandbar. Seriously- the Atlantic Ocean is like 100 feet from this building.

This seems monumentally stupid to me, but I will admit that the view is probably worth the exorbitant rent they must pay.

(New here? Check out Ocean Township Daily Photo for bigger/artsier photos. It’s got a photo archive, too!

OTDP contains essentially the same material you’ll find here at good ol’ MCDP, but most of the photos on OTDP have achieved a certain amount of quality [unlike, say, yesterday's photo]. If you just want an informal tour of Monmouth County, stay right here; if you’re looking for photos of any artistic value, I’d like to gently nudge you to take a peek at OTDP.

If you’re not new here, just ignore all that.)

(Oh! And for Monmouth County goings-on, definitely check out Marilyn’s photos of the Asbury Park Pride Fest today!)

feeeeeeeeeeeesh!

Valentine’s feeshies! Makes this whole day a lot better.

Embarrassingly, the flash went off.

(This is Sallee Tee’s. Don’t get the pasta primavera, but I hear their seafood is pretty good.)

marina

Channel Club Marina in Monmouth Beach (which is a town)… seen here boatless, ice-laden and black & white (there were no colors anyway).

I really wish I had something more constructive to say about this, but I don’t know the area that well.
