On a drainpipe(? I see these things all over the place and I have absolutely no idea what they’re called) wall behind Monmouth Mall. There’s not a lot of interesting graffiti in this area, so you’ve got to look for it. This was even more secluded than the barb-wire-fenced-in relay station behind the parking lot.

Hello, new subscriber here. As a fellow Monmouth County resident I am enjoying this blog a great deal. If you are looking for interesting graffiti, check along the North Jersey Coast Line, especially the sides of overpass tunnels, aqueducts and storage facilities. There are some very colorful tags on a storage facility parallel to Route 71 in Manasquan.

How’s this a pipe? It has some dreary colors linking the warn graffiti with the dead leaves…

Ame- SHHHHH! Stop telling everyone my secrets! Of course, if you WERE to tell anyone, the blog police would be the people to alert. Bloggers find graffiti “hip” and “fun.” Only REAL police are stuffy enough to consider it vandalism. π
Justin- Wow! You have made my day! Did everyone read Justin’s comment? My blog has been approved by a fellow resident of Monmouth County!
I have actually seen that graffiti along the North Jersey Coast Line, but the most interesting tags seem to be in northern Jersey (from my unscientific observations). I’ll look into it, though- that’s a good idea. Thanks!

Ja- It’s not a pipe. But about a meter further down this wall, there’s a huge pipe comin’ out of it. The wall actually marks an enclosure that this pipe (and a couple others, I think) can drain into. From there, the water feeds into a pitiful excuse for a creek.
And yeah, I enhanced the colors. Otherwise the entire thing, graffiti and all, was a pale brownish-gray.
