Ocean Grove

I went for a walk (on a flock) on a flock of birds, and it felt like a trillion herds

Everyone loves a good sunset!

Some people do not love a good flock of seagulls, but y’know, it’s their loss.

The fishing pier is still there when it's gloomy out. I have proof!

This is the Ocean Grove fishing pier.

(I love it when a photo is really juicy right out of the camera. Like this. Bam.)

(Well. I did straighten it and nudge the white point a little, but that’s it, I swear.)

Playin' with a dog in good ol' Ocean Grove

Some people like to take their dogs out on lonely beaches to give ’em some exercise. (It’s more difficult to do this when there are people laying about everywhere.)

Ahhh, the good old days of two weeks ago! It was still chilly then.

What was left of the Manchester Inn

Ocean Grove’s Manchester Inn was a landmark of the town until it burned down in winter 2010. I was in Chicago at the time, but my parents called to tell me the news, and they mailed me some newspaper clippings about the story. It was a Big Deal.

This is what was left of it by July 2010. I think they’ve cleaned it up better by now, and I’m told there might be new construction starting soon.

The muralist at work!

In July 2010, I was lucky enough to stumble upon a muralist putting the finishing touches on a new mural by the Asbury Park casino.

I think I have photos of the exact wall before it was painted, but I’ll need to find them and re-upload them; I had all my black-and-white photos stored on Zooomr, which permanently went kaput without giving any warning.

Ahhhhh summer.

Are you jonesing for warmer weather yet? I am. Here’s Ocean Grove in June.

(Same view as the one I posted last week, actually. I can’t help it; if I’m on the Ocean Grove pier, and I have my camera, I need to take a photo.)

Beachwalkers

Who said nobody goes to the Jersey shore in January? That’s when the locals can finally enjoy an uncrowded beach!
