I was walking down the street in Belmar, NJ, and said,
“Well, theoretically, if theOH my God I have no idea what that is but I need a picture of it.”
It’s apparently a bee doing laundry.
Good to know.

That is undoubtedly the same reaction I would have had, had I been walking past that sign.
A couple of things strike me about this picture (well, more than two, but that’s how many I will comment on):
1. It’s a nice rendition of the sign, but I’m wondering if it’s artsy enough for The Twp.
2. Perhaps this busy bee has stuff going on in the kitchen as well as the laundry room? Or are the mittens (hand socks) and apron just part of a maid outfit?

HEY.
The Twp is as artsy as I decide it to beeee.
(In all honesty, this is one of those pictures that for as long as I took trying to post-process it, I hated to leave it on one site.)
(Beeeesides, I can’t ALWAYS hold myself to a high standard, or else I’d never get anything done.)
His mittens (hand socks) are probably covering up his natural hairy pronged bee-feet, which are kind of gross and probably wouldn’t entice customers to come inside the store.

I like it – it is sooo cartoonish š
Did the laundry have a name that had anything to do with a bee?

I just pawed through a list of laundry places in Belmar, and I’m guessing this was the “Busy B’s Launderette.” So… yes. š

i love signage…
one construction note… when you’re subject is in shadows and/or has a lighter background, you may want to use a mode that will fire the flash… so you can get a bit more balance between subject and background… and detail in the subject…

Raindog, you can’t see me, but I am bowing in thanks to you.
At the time, mike, I didn’t even realize how backlit the sign was- I was just concerned with documenting a unique sign. Only when I got home did I see how throughly dark gray the bee was, and I wished I’d circled around and taken a shot from the other side. Thanks for the tip. š
Pod, you are plain weird.

I don’t know if there is anything plain about Pod, even weirdness. š
